Electro-erosion machine filters
This group of filters finds uses in Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) and in Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM). The filters operate in water or in petroleum, or in other mineral or synthetic oils. Their task is to cleanse the dielectric of waste material during the erosion process, which is important because contaminants have a strong influence on the speed and precision of the machining, as well as on the quality of the surface. The presence of contaminants also influences the life span of the replaceable parts and the resin, as well as the stability of the conductivity of the dielectric. The presence of contaminants can also cause secondary arc discharge, which has a negative effect on the precision of the machining and on its repeatability. The appropriate long-lasting filters, made from durable and effective filtration media, therefore reduce the maintenance costs of machines. The filtration range of this type of filter is of the order of 3÷25 µm.
